Our Story

Collaboration, Creativity and Closeness To Nature

2016

The story of Nature Escape started in 2016, when a group of physical education instructor students started their studies at Vierumäki. The studies started with a project, in which the group was challenged to innovate and create new activities for Vierumäki. The group was mentored by students of third year studies. During the project the group innovated many of the activities found today in Nature Escape's selection; The nature escape game, floating and Human Foosball. Later during the studies our company's first manager Jesse Myllylä assembled a group of students that were interested in entrepeneurship, and in Spring 2018 we officially founded Nature Escape with five shareholders. Our business was the first limited company to be founded in Vierumäki during studies, which is an achievement we are very proud of.

2019

After founding the company we continued the business alongside of our studies and started working together with Vierumäki to organize events for Vierumäki's business clients. During the first year we also started building the first escape room, and the game was opened for business in 2019. During this time we learned a lot about entrepeneurship and we were involved in many wonderful events in Vierumäki, such as DNA-days, Haaga-Helia's recreation days and PE-teachers' seminar. Most of us did school projects to further develop the company.

2020

After graduating in December 2019, three of us shareholders started working full time with the company. However, the global pandemic struck and we had to adapt to an unexpected situation. During the quiet months, we focused on developing company guidelines and services while waiting for better times, and we ended up spending a lot of time building new nature escape games. In a sense we were quite lucky, since the lockdown did not last long, and soon we started organizing events for small groups. In 2020 we started working together with many of our wonderful partners, including Pajulahti, Varala and Vaihmalan Hovi. With the help from our partners we were able to expand our operations and organize events for more people. During this time the events were organized by the original founders, and we also got help from a few additional instructors.

2021

In 2021 we acquired two new partners: Iloranta and Ilolan maatila. We also created a new nature escape game: "Prisoners of the Underworld". We have designed and built our games ourselves from scratch, combining old and new ideas. The new game was received well and "Prisoners of the Underworld" has been incredibly popular ever since.

2022

2022 was a year of development and big changes. Through the continued partnerships we got to organize events in a completely different ways. We were joined by six wonderful new instructors, which means our capable team holds a total of 12 instructors. During 2022 the major role of a manager was granted to a new owner, Iida Keisu, who is one of the original founders.

2023

In 2023 we acquired new partners, when we started to organize floating in Lehmonkärki and nature escape games in the vicinity of Restaurant Backas. During this time hit a personal record, organizing up to 8 nature escape games simultaneously. We also sold a copy of our game "The 8th Wonder of The World" to Sappee travel center. In 2023 the company changed its CEO, when one of the founders, Milla Palvanen was appointed the head of the company.

2024

In fall of 2023 the students of Haaga-Helia designed new experiences for Nature Escape as a part of a competition, and the winning teams idea, "The Trail of Senses", was taken into development in 2024. In the summer and early fall of 2024 the experience was tested and perfected. This new and calmer experience was greatly appreciated by the testers. The Trail of Senses is available for groups, first in Tampere and from 2025 in other locations as well.

2025

In 2025 Nature Escape has begun operating in a new area in Varsinais-Suomi. There has also been new copies of the nature escape games. During this year we also organized our biggest events yet, with number of simultaneous nature games up to 11, and participants of over 100 at a time! During the winter of 2025-2026 our CEO Milla is working on other projects, with our VP Jesse covering the daily operation during this time.

2026

In 2026 we continue to develop our operations, with a focus on quality sales, marketing, continued collaboration, new experiences and bigger, better events! We will invest in the quality of our experiences and our ability to create value for our customers and partners.
